Elaine is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapist and abides by BACP ethics. She holds full accreditation status and is also located on their official website.
Having gained both a Certificate and Diploma in Counselling, Elaine has been in practice locally for many years and is confident working with all sorts of emotional issues She is ‘at home’ counselling in both the short or long term.
With experience of working for her local primary care trust in GP surgeries she has acquired a broad range of psychotherapeutic and counselling experience. In her own practice she tailors her counselling to meet the individual needs of her clients. Practising from a person-centred perspective and she will incorporate cognitive behavioural therapy and then integrate more approaches to enhance her work as and when appropriate.
Elaine has a special interest in addiction counselling, in particular, alcohol. She has worked extensively with clients who have alcohol-related issues and is current working for the Herts. Alcohol Counselling Service in Watford.
Finally, Elaine works as a trainer for Turning Point, a national drug and alcohol treatment agency on their drink drive offender courses (DDOC’s). These are offered to those individuals convicted of drink/driving and her role is to help inform and educate participants about the affects of alcohol on the body and on driving skills.
